2024 Innovative Practices Conference (IPC)

As an 18-year-old high school student, I think it's safe to say that I've been on the front lines of public school. Even though I may not have a teaching degree and be a bit biased towards assigning homework, I have insights on why students aren't focussed and stay glued to their phone. The short answer: Many classrooms of today are one-sided with many lectures not involving student participation. In this session, you will hear some of my experience in school as a student, then get to hop into Markify and see how a collaborative platform can revolutionize how students participate during class. Oh, and don't worry, Markify has advanced features for controlling student access and preventing other student's work from being deleted - Collaboration without Chaos! By the end of the session, you'll be fully versed on the ways of Markify and see how classroom tech can fight off student tech (phones and social media).
