Use Google Forms and Canva to Streamline a Paperless Field Trip Process
Students thrive when we can spark their interests in learning through real world experiences! Field trips, or in person learning opportunities as I call them, can be a monumental way to address SEL and academics simultaneously. In this PD we will learn to make artifacts that make the 'paperwok' portion and tracking said paperwork a breeze! Google templates will be available for copy! Sharing is caring!

1.Learn to use Canva and Google Forms and Google Sheets to create Field Trip flyers that have a link to student registration which includes digital versions of the CPS Photo Release and CPS Digital Permission Slip. Parents get a digital receipt with the details automatically that populates in a spreadsheet you can easily track student registrations and share with colleagues!

2. Discuss the process of how to ask for Title 1 money for field trips including the CPS District form your building treasurer will need.

3. Get a brief introduction into the new CPS grant process for 2024-2025!

4.Discuss the process of securing transportation to field trips.

Don't Worry, Be APPy
In this hands-on session, participants will learn how coding apps and workforce skills are inherently connected. According to a CASEL report, 92 percent of businesses agree that SEL skills are equally or more important than technical skills, specifically problem-solving and communication. But experiences like building a mobile app can actually help develop, enhance, and augment these skills. Using the six-step design thinking process, educators will build their own apps and learn how piquing interest in computer science starting can lay the foundation for the vital and transferable skills students will need for their education careers and beyond.
